iPhone vs Stone
While the whole world goes “wo-how” over the new iphone 3G, here’s a picture to support those who speak against it.
I can’t help agreeing with this picture- even my simple Nokia phone provides all these features (except the touch screen), and it doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket.
So as I always say, it’s smarter to buy the ipod touch and use a regular mobile phone.

A VERY convincing argument indeed.
hmmm...nice comparison...just show it to a proud iphone owner :D
addition: the iphone cant be hurled like stones :D
I'd beg to disagree on this one actually. Why carry itouch AND a phone when literally, you can use features of both in one - the iphone! I used to be a hard-core nokia fan then moved to sony and now to iphone and it is indeed one of the best so far! I'd say if you want to carry couple of gadgets, then let it be the iphone and a good digital camera!
On another note, I liked your blog.
If I were in the US, I would probably use the iphone. It has a lot of compatibility issues in India. It also doesn't offer the basic features like FM radio, SMS forwarding, video recording, which almost all phones offer.
Thanks!
Well, there's a reason the iPhone has the App Store. You could easily get features like SMS Forwarding and Video Recording on the iPhone by adding a couple of apps.
As far as FM radio is concerned, well the iPhone is engineered to work on 3G networks. Which is where internet radio comes in. With a 3G network connection, FM radio would be redundant. That we don't have 3G networks in India is another matter. It isn't really a fault of the phone is it?
Nothing at the Apple Store is free. You would expect these basic features to be complimentary.
I'm not blaming the phone. But it is pretty useless in India at the moment.
Nothing at the Apple Store is free.
Unfortunately, Apple disagrees. Perhaps Lifehacker could show you some interesting apps. Also, Google is supposed to be a useful website.
You would expect these basic features to be complimentary.
The basic features I would expect from a phone would be the ability to make phone calls, send messages, store phone numbers and perhaps even surf the web. Unfortunately, your stone doesn't deliver on these accounts.
FM radio and SMS forwarding and video recording are basic features. The stone may not provide it, but a phone costing 2000 rs will.
The logic shown in this photo can essentially be extrapolated to say something like: A stone can't get up and do the Cha-cha-cha, and neither can the iPhone. Woohoo, they're similar now!
I'm not the biggest fan of the iPhone here, nor would the iPhone be my preferred phone, but if I had to compare two things, I would imagine it would be sensible to compare them on the basis of similar attributes that exist in at least one of the two things being compared.
In case you didn't get it, this was a joke.
